Surah Ash-Shu'araa: Arabic, Transliteration and Translation
Surah Ash-Shu'araa is chapter 26 of the Holy Quran; it has 227 verses and is a Meccan surah. Below you can read the whole surah verse by verse with the Arabic text, Latin transliteration and English translation.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
طسٓمٓ﴿1﴾
Taa-Seeen-Meeem
1.Ta, Seen, Meem.
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ﴿2﴾
Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil Mubeen
2.These are the verses of the clear Book.
لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ﴿3﴾
La'allaka baakhi'un nafsaka allaa yakoonoo mu'mineen
3.Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةًۭ فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ﴿4﴾
In nashaa nunazzil 'alaihim minas samaaa'i Aayatan fazallat a'naaquhum lahaa khaadi'een
4.If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ﴿5﴾
Wa maa yaateehim min zikrim minar Rahmaani muhdasin illaa kaanoo 'anhu mu'rideen
5.And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ﴿6﴾
Faqad kazzaboo fasa yaateehim ambaaa'u maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon
6.For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ﴿7﴾
Awa lam yaraw ilal ardi kam ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjin kareem
7.Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿8﴾
Inn fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
8.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿9﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
9.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿10﴾
Wa iz naadaa Rabbuka Moosaaa ani'-til qawmaz zaalimeen
10.And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ﴿11﴾
Qawma Fir'awn; alaa yattaqoon
11.The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ﴿12﴾
Qaala Rabbi inneee akhaafu ai yukazziboon
12.He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ﴿13﴾
Wa yadeequ sadree wa laa yantaliqu lisaanee fa arsil ilaa Haaroon
13.And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ﴿14﴾
Wa lahum 'alaiya zambun fa akhaafu ai yaqtuloon
14.And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ﴿15﴾
Qaala kallaa fazhabaa bi Aayaatinaaa innaa ma'akum mustami'oon
15.[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿16﴾
Faatiyaa Fir'awna faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolu Rabbil 'aalameen
16.Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ﴿17﴾
An arsil ma'anaa Baneee Israaa'eel
17.[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ﴿18﴾
Qaala alam nurabbika feenaa waleedanw wa labista feenaa min 'umurika sineen
18.[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ﴿19﴾
Wa fa'alta fa'latakal latee fa'alta wa anta minal kaafireen
19.And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًۭا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ﴿20﴾
Qaala fa'altuhaaa izanw wa ana minad daaaleen
20.[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray.
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًۭا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿21﴾
Fafarartu minkum lam maa khiftukum fawahaba lee Rabbee hukmanw wa ja'alanee minal mursaleen
21.So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌۭ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ﴿22﴾
Wa tilka ni'matun tamun nuhaa 'alaiya an 'abbatta Baneee Israaa'eel
22.And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿23﴾
Qaala Fir'awnu wa maa Rabbul 'aalameen
23.Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ﴿24﴾
Qaala Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa in kuntum mooqineen
24.[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ﴿25﴾
Qaala liman hawlahooo alaa tastami'oon
25.[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿26﴾
Qaala Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen
26.[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ﴿27﴾
Qaala inna Rasoolakumul lazee ursila ilaikum lamajnoon
27.[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ﴿28﴾
Qaala Rabbul mashriqi wal maghribi wa maa baina humaa in kuntum ta'qiloon
28.[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ﴿29﴾
Qaala la'init takhazta ilaahan ghairee la aj'alannaka minal masjooneen
29.[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ﴿30﴾
Qaala awalw ji'tuka bishai'im mubeen
30.[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?"
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ﴿31﴾
Qaala faati biheee in kunta minas saadiqeen
31.[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ﴿32﴾
Fa alqaa 'asaahu fa izaaa hiya su'baanum mubeen
32.So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ﴿33﴾
Wa naza'a yadahoo faizaa hiya baidaaa'u linnaa zireen
33.And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ﴿34﴾
Qaala lilmala-i hawlahooo inna haazaa lasaahirun 'aleem
34.[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ﴿35﴾
Yureedu ai yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihee famaazaa taamuroon
35.He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ﴿36﴾
Qaalooo arjih wa akhaahu wab'as filmadaaa'ini haashireen
36.They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍۢ﴿37﴾
Yaatooka bikulli sah haarin 'aleem
37.Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ﴿38﴾
Fa jumi'as saharatu limeeqaati Yawmim ma'loom
38.So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ﴿39﴾
Wa qeela linnaasi hal antum mujtami'oon
39.And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ﴿40﴾
La'allanaa nattabi'us saharata in kaanoo humul ghaalibeen
40.That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ﴿41﴾
Falammaa jaaa'as saharatu qaaloo li Fir'awna a'inna lanaa la ajjran in kunnaa nahnul ghaalibeen
41.And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ﴿42﴾
Qaala na'am wa innakum izal laminal muqarrabeen
42.He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ﴿43﴾
Qaala lahum Moosaaa alqoo maaa antum mulqoon
43.Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ﴿44﴾
Fa alqaw hibaalahum wa 'isiyyahum wa qaaloo bi'izzati Fir'awna innaa lanahnul ghaaliboon
44.So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ﴿45﴾
Fa alqaa Moosaa 'asaahu fa izaa hiya talqafu maa yaafikoon
45.Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ﴿46﴾
Fa ulqiyas saharatu saajideen
46.So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿47﴾
Qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbil 'aalameen
47.They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ﴿48﴾
Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon
48.The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ﴿49﴾
Qaala aamantum lahoo qabla an aazana lakum innahoo lakabeerukumul lazee 'alla makumus sihra falasawfa ta'lamoon; la uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafinw wa la usallibanna kum ajma'een
49.[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ﴿50﴾
Qaaloo la daira innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqalliboon
50.They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿51﴾
Innaa natma'u ai yaghfira lanaa Rabbunna khataa yaanaaa an kunnaaa awwalal mu'mineen
51.Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ﴿52﴾
Wa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an asri bi'ibaadeee innakum muttaba'oon
52.And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ﴿53﴾
Fa arsala Fir'awnu filmadaaa'ini haashireen
53.Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ﴿54﴾
Inna haaa'ulaaa'i lashir zimatun qaleeloon
54.[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ﴿55﴾
Wa innahum lanaa laghaaa'izoon
55.And indeed, they are enraging us,
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ﴿56﴾
Wa innaa lajamee'un haaziroon
56.And indeed, we are a cautious society... "
فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ﴿57﴾
Fa akhrajnaahum min Jannaatinw wa 'uyoon
57.So We removed them from gardens and springs
وَكُنُوزٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ﴿58﴾
Wa kunoozinw wa ma qaamin kareem
58.And treasures and honorable station -
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ﴿59﴾
Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa Baneee Israaa'eel
59.Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ﴿60﴾
Fa atba'oohum mushriqeen
60.So they pursued them at sunrise.
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ﴿61﴾
Falammaa taraaa'al jam'aani qaala as haabu Moosaaa innaa lamudrakoon
61.And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ﴿62﴾
Qaala kallaaa inna ma'iya Rabbee sa yahdeen
62.[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍۢ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ﴿63﴾
Fa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa anidrib bi'asaakal bahra fanfalaqa fakaana kullu firqin kattawdil 'azeem
63.Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ﴿64﴾
Wa azlafnaa sammal aakhareen
64.And We advanced thereto the pursuers.
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ﴿65﴾
Wa anjainaa Moosaa wa mam ma'ahooo ajma'een
65.And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ﴿66﴾
Summa aghraqnal aakhareen
66.Then We drowned the others.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿67﴾
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaru hu mu'mineen
67.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿68﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
68.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ﴿69﴾
Watlu 'alaihim naba-a Ibraaheem
69.And recite to them the news of Abraham,
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ﴿70﴾
Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa ta'budoon
70.When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ﴿71﴾
Qaaloo na'budu asnaaman fanazallu lahaa 'aakifeen
71.They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ﴿72﴾
Qaala hal yasma'oona kum iz tad'oon
72.He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ﴿73﴾
Aw yanfa'oonakum aw yadurroon
73.Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ﴿74﴾
Qaaloo bal wajadnaaa aabaaa 'anaa kazaalika yaf'aloon
74.They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ﴿75﴾
Qaala afara 'aitum maa kuntum ta'budoon
75.He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ﴿76﴾
Antum wa aabaaa'ukumul aqdamoon
76.You and your ancient forefathers?
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿77﴾
Fa innahum 'aduwwwul leee illaa Rabbal 'aalameen
77.Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ﴿78﴾
Allazee khalaqanee fa Huwa yahdeen
78.Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ﴿79﴾
Wallazee Huwa yut'imunee wa yasqeen
79.And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ﴿80﴾
Wa izaa mardtu fahuwa yashfeen
80.And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ﴿81﴾
Wallazee yumeetunee summa yuhyeen
81.And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ﴿82﴾
Wallazeee atma'u ai yaghfira lee khateee' atee Yawmad Deen
82.And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ﴿83﴾
Rabbi hab lee hukmanw wa alhiqnee bis saaliheen
83.[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ﴿84﴾
Waj'al lee lisaana sidqin fil aakhireen
84.And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ﴿85﴾
Waj'alnee minw warasati Jannnatin Na'eem
85.And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ﴿86﴾
Waghfir li abeee innahoo kaana mind daalleen
86.And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ﴿87﴾
Wa laa tukhzinee Yawma yub'asoon
87.And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ﴿88﴾
Yawma laa yanfa'u maalunw wa laa banoon
88.The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ﴿89﴾
Illaa man atal laaha biqalbin saleem
89.But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ﴿90﴾
Wa uzlifatil Jannatu lilmuttaqeen
90.And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ﴿91﴾
Wa burrizatil Jaheemu lilghaaween
91.And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ﴿92﴾
Wa qeela lahum aina maa kuntum ta'budoon
92.And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ﴿93﴾
Min doonil laahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroon
93.Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?"
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ﴿94﴾
Fakubkiboo feehaa hum walghaawoon
94.So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ﴿95﴾
Wa junoodu Ibleesa ajma'oon
95.And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ﴿96﴾
Qaaloo wa hum feehaa yakkhtasimoon
96.They will say while they dispute therein,
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ﴿97﴾
Tallaahi in kunnaa lafee dalaalim mubeen
97."By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿98﴾
Iz nusawweekum bi Rabbil 'aalameen
98.When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿99﴾
Wa maaa adallanaaa illal mujrimoon
99.And no one misguided us except the criminals.
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ﴿100﴾
Famaa lanaa min shaa fi'een
100.So now we have no intercessors
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ﴿101﴾
Wa laa sadeeqin hameem
101.And not a devoted friend.
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿102﴾
Falaw anna lanaa karratan fanakoona minal mu'mineen
102.Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... "
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿103﴾
Inna fee zaalika la Aayatanw wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
103.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿104﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
104.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿105﴾
Kazzabat qawmu Noohinil Mursaleen
105.The people of Noah denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿106﴾
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Noohun alaa tattaqoon
106.When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ﴿107﴾
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
107.Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿108﴾
Fattaqullaaha wa atee'oon
108.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿109﴾
Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
109.And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿110﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
110.So fear Allah and obey me."
۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ﴿111﴾
Qaalooo anu'minu laka wattaba 'akal arzaloon
111.They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ﴿112﴾
Qaala wa maa 'ilmee bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon
112.He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ﴿113﴾
In hisaabuhum illaa 'alaa Rabbee law tash'uroon
113.Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿114﴾
Wa maaa ana bitaaridil mu'mineen
114.And I am not one to drive away the believers.
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ﴿115﴾
In ana illaa nazeerum mubeen
115.I am only a clear warner."
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ﴿116﴾
Qaaloo la'il lam tantahi yaa Noohu latakoonanna minal marjoomeen
116.They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ﴿117﴾
Qaala Rabbi inna qawmee kazzaboon
117.He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿118﴾
Faftab bainee wa bai nahum fat hanw wa najjinee wa mam ma'iya minal mu'mineen
118.Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ﴿119﴾
Fa anjainaahu wa mamma'ahoo fil fulkil mashhoon
119.So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ﴿120﴾
Summa aghraqnaa ba'dul baaqeen
120.Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿121﴾
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
121.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿122﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
122.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿123﴾
Kazzabat 'Aadunil mursaleen
123.'Aad denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿124﴾
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Hoodun alaa tattaqoon
124.When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ﴿125﴾
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
125.Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿126﴾
Fattaqullaaha wa atee'oon
126.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿127﴾
Wa maa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
127.And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةًۭ تَعْبَثُونَ﴿128﴾
Atabnoona bikulli ree'in aayatan ta'basoon
128.Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ﴿129﴾
Wa tattakhizoona masaani'a la'allakum takhludoon
129.And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ﴿130﴾
Wa izaa batashtum batashtum jabbaareen
130.And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿131﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
131.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴿132﴾
Wattaqul lazeee amad dakum bimaa ta'lamoon
132.And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍۢ وَبَنِينَ﴿133﴾
Amaddakum bi an'aa minw wa baneen
133.Provided you with grazing livestock and children
وَجَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ﴿134﴾
Wa jannaatinw wa 'uyoon
134.And gardens and springs.
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ﴿135﴾
Innee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin 'azeem
135.Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ﴿136﴾
Qaaloo sawaaa'un 'alainaaa awa 'azta am lam takum minal waa'izeen
136.They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿137﴾
In haazaaa illaa khuluqul awwaleen
137.This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ﴿138﴾
Wa maa nahnu bimu 'azzabeen
138.And we are not to be punished."
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿139﴾
Fakazzaboohu fa ahlaknaahum; inna fee zaalika la aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
139.And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿140﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
140.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿141﴾
Kazzabat Samoodul mursaleen
141.Thamud denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿142﴾
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Saalihun alaa tattaqoon
142.When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ﴿143﴾
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
143.Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿144﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
144.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿145﴾
Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
145.And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ﴿146﴾
Atutrakoona fee maa haahunnaaa aamineen
146.Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],
فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ﴿147﴾
Fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon
147.Within gardens and springs
وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَنَخْلٍۢ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌۭ﴿148﴾
Wa zuroo inw wa nakhlin tal 'uhaa hadeem
148.And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَٰرِهِينَ﴿149﴾
Wa tanhitoona minal jibaali buyootan faariheen
149.And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿150﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
150.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ﴿151﴾
Wa laa tutee'ooo amral musrifeen
151.And do not obey the order of the transgressors,
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ﴿152﴾
Allazeena yufsidoona fil ardi wa laa yuslihoon
152.Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ﴿153﴾
Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen
153.They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ﴿154﴾
Maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa faati bi Aayatin in kunta minas saadiqeen
154.You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."
قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌۭ لَّهَا شِرْبٌۭ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ﴿155﴾
Qaala haazihee naaqatul lahaa shirbunw w alakum shirbu yawmim ma'loom
155.He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ﴿156﴾
Wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo'in fa yaakhuzakum 'azaabu Yawmin 'Azeem
156.And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ﴿157﴾
Fa'aqaroohaa fa asbahoo naadimeen
157.But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿158﴾
Fa akhazahumul 'azaab; inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum m'mineen
158.And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿159﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
159.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿160﴾
kazzabat qawmu Lootinil mursaleen
160.The people of Lot denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿161﴾
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Lootun alaa tattaqoon
161.When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ﴿162﴾
Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
162.Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿163﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
163.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿164﴾
Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
164.And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿165﴾
Ataatoonaz zukraana minal 'aalameen
165.Do you approach males among the worlds
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ﴿166﴾
Wa tazaroona maa khalaqa lakum Rabbukum min azwaajikum; bal antum qawmun 'aadoon
166.And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ﴿167﴾
Qaloo la'il lam tantahi yaa Lootu latakoonanna minal mukhrajeen
167.They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ﴿168﴾
Qaala innee li'amalikum minal qaaleen
168.He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ﴿169﴾
Rabbi najjjinee wa ahlee mimmmaa ya'maloon
169.My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."
فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ﴿170﴾
Fanajjainaahu wa ahlahooo ajma'een
170.So We saved him and his family, all,
إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ﴿171﴾
Illaa 'ajoozan filghaabireen
171.Except an old woman among those who remained behind.
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ﴿172﴾
Summa dammarnal aa khareen
172.Then We destroyed the others.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ﴿173﴾
Wa amtarnaa 'alaihim mataran fasaaa'a matarul munzareen
173.And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿174﴾
Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
174.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿175﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
175.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿176﴾
Kazzaba As haabul Aykatil mursaleen
176.The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿177﴾
Iz qaala lahum Shu'aybun alaa tattaqoon
177.When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ﴿178﴾
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
178.Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ﴿179﴾
Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon
179.So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿180﴾
Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
180.And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ﴿181﴾
Awful kaila wa laa takoonoo minal mukhsireen
181.Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ﴿182﴾
Wa zinoo bilqistaasil mustaqeem
182.And weigh with an even balance.
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ﴿183﴾
Wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaaa 'ahum wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen
183.And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿184﴾
Wattaqul lazee khalaqakum waljibillatal awwaleen
184.And fear He who created you and the former creation."
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ﴿185﴾
Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen
185.They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ﴿186﴾
Wa maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa wa innazunnuka laminal kaazibeen
186.You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ﴿187﴾
Fa asqit 'alainaa kisafam minas samaaa'i in kunta minas saadiqeen
187.So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ﴿188﴾
Qaala Rabbeee a'lamu bimaa ta'maloon
188.He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ﴿189﴾
Fakazzaboohu fa akhazahum 'azaabu Yawmiz zullah; innahoo kaana 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem
189.And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴿190﴾
Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
190.Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿191﴾
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
191.And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿192﴾
Wa innahoo latanzeelu Rabbil 'aalameen
192.And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ﴿193﴾
Nazala bihir Roohul Ameen
193.The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ﴿194﴾
'Alaa qalbika litakoona minal munzireen
194.Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners -
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّۢ مُّبِينٍۢ﴿195﴾
Bilisaanin 'Arabiyyim mubeen
195.In a clear Arabic language.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿196﴾
Wa innahoo lafee Zuburil awwaleen
196.And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ﴿197﴾
Awalam yakul lahum Aayatan ai ya'lamahoo 'ulamaaa'u Baneee Israaa'eel
197.And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ﴿198﴾
Wa law nazzalnaahu 'alaa ba'dil a'jameen
198.And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ﴿199﴾
Faqara ahoo 'alaihim maa kaanoo bihee mu'mineen
199.And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ﴿200﴾
Kazaalika salaknaahu fee quloobil mujrimeen
200.Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ﴿201﴾
Laa yu'minoona bihee hattaa yarawul 'azaabal aleem
201.They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿202﴾
Fayaatiyahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon
202.And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ﴿203﴾
Fa yaqooloo hal nahnu munzaroon
203.And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ﴿204﴾
Aafabi 'azaabinaa yasta'jiloon
204.So for Our punishment are they impatient?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ﴿205﴾
Aara'aita im matta'naahum sineen
205.Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ﴿206﴾
Summa jaaa'ahum maa kaanoo yoo'adoon
206.And then there came to them that which they were promised?
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ﴿207﴾
Maaa aghnaaa 'anhum maa kaanoo yumaatoo'oon
207.They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ﴿208﴾
Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa lahaa munziroon
208.And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ﴿209﴾
Zikraa wa maa kunnaa zaalimeen
209.As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ﴿210﴾
Wa maa tanazzalat bihish Shayaateen
210.And the devils have not brought the revelation down.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ﴿211﴾
Wa maa yambaghee lahum wa maa yastatee'oon
211.It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ﴿212﴾
Innahum 'anis sam'i lama'zooloon
212.Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ﴿213﴾
Falaa tad'u ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara fatakoona minal mu'azzabeen
213.So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished.
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ﴿214﴾
Wa anzir 'asheeratakal aqrabeen
214.And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿215﴾
Wakhfid janaahaka limanit taba 'aka minal mu'mineen
215.And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ﴿216﴾
Fa in asawka faqul innee bareee'um mimmmaa ta'maloon
216.And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ﴿217﴾
Wa tawakkal alal 'Azeezir Raheem
217.And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ﴿218﴾
Allazee yaraaka heena taqoom
218.Who sees you when you arise
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ﴿219﴾
Wa taqallubaka fis saajideen
219.And your movement among those who prostrate.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ﴿220﴾
Innahoo Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem
220.Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ﴿221﴾
Hal unabbi'ukum 'alaa man tanazzalush Shayaateen
221.Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ﴿222﴾
Tanazzalu 'alaa kulli affaakin aseem
222.They descend upon every sinful liar.
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ﴿223﴾
Yulqoonas sam'a wa aksaruhum aaziboon
223.They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ﴿224﴾
Washshu 'araaa'u yattabi 'uhumul ghaawoon
224.And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍۢ يَهِيمُونَ﴿225﴾
Alam tara annahum fee kulli waadiny yaheemoon
225.Do you not see that in every valley they roam
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ﴿226﴾
Wa annahum yaqooloona ma laa yaf'aloon
226.And that they say what they do not do? -
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ﴿227﴾
Illal lazeena aamanoo w a'amilus saalihaati wa zakarul laaha kaseeranw wantasaroo mim ba'di maa zulimoo; wa saya'lamul lazeena zalamooo aiya munqalbiny yanqaliboon
227.Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
