Surah At-Taariq: Arabic, Transliteration and Translation

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ﴿1﴾

   Wassamaaa'i wattaariq

   1.By the sky and the night comer -

2. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ﴿2﴾

   Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

   2.And what can make you know what is the night comer?

3. ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ﴿3﴾

   Annajmus saaqib

   3.It is the piercing star -

4. إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ﴿4﴾

   In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

   4.There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

5. فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ﴿5﴾

   Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

   5.So let man observe from what he was created.

6. خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ﴿6﴾

   Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

   6.He was created from a fluid, ejected,

7. يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ﴿7﴾

   Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

   7.Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

8. إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ﴿8﴾

   Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

   8.Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

9. يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ﴿9﴾

   Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

   9.The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

10. فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ﴿10﴾

    Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

    10.Then man will have no power or any helper.

11. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ﴿11﴾

    Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

    11.By the sky which returns [rain]

12. وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ﴿12﴾

    Wal ardi zaatis sad'

    12.And [by] the earth which cracks open,

13. إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ﴿13﴾

    Innahoo laqawlun fasl

    13.Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

14. وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ﴿14﴾

    Wa maa huwa bil hazl

    14.And it is not amusement.

15. إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا﴿15﴾

    Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

    15.Indeed, they are planning a plan,

16. وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا﴿16﴾

    Wa akeedu kaidaa

    16.But I am planning a plan.

17. فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا﴿17﴾

    Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

    17.So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
